In Thailand, there are certain restrictions on carrying out renovation construction on weekends, mainly to reduce noise interference with surrounding residents. According to relevant regulations in Thailand, the construction time for decoration usually has the following provisions:

Construction time on weekdays

Large scale decoration project (using motorized equipment): from 7am to 7pm on weekdays.

Small scale decoration project (using handheld machinery): from 7am to 11pm on weekdays.

Weekend construction time

Large scale renovation projects are usually not allowed to be carried out on weekends unless special permission is obtained.

Small renovation projects: In some cases, it may be allowed to be carried out on weekends, but stricter time restrictions need to be followed, usually from 7am to 7pm.

Special circumstances

If construction needs to be carried out outside the specified time, one can apply for a “Construction Noise Permit” from the Thai Environmental Protection Agency. However, the Environmental Protection Agency will decide whether to issue a permit based on factors such as the surrounding environment and the noise level of the project. If approved, there will also be additional restricted time periods.

Noise control

Thailand’s Noise Control Regulations have strict regulations on construction noise, especially in residential areas, to reduce interference with residents. Violation of regulations may result in fines or other legal consequences.

Therefore, when carrying out weekend renovations in Thailand, it is recommended to communicate with the property management department or local community in advance to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and avoid unnecessary disputes.
